Some of the amusing banter I heard in person at the Carousel Ballroom (Fillmore West) in 1970 is missing from surviving tapes (in one case, only 2 songs or so exist from a particular night).

I wrote my recollections of said banter in my reviews or on previous posts.

After 1971, at (Bay Area) gigs I went to, including small venues with the JGB, I don't recall them ever talking to the audience again. The cut-off point may have been the big freak-out at Winterland when dosed water was gulped by unwary audience.

This may be different outside SF.

Also I haven't heard every tape.
